Zappi V2.1

The solar owner’s charger.

A 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase smart charger built around solar. Its ECO+ mode charges purely from the surplus power you’d otherwise export to the grid.

The charger

Zappi V2.1 (7 kW / 22 kW)

The myenergi Zappi is designed to make the most of your solar. It has three charging modes — FAST, ECO and ECO+ — and in ECO or ECO+ it continually adjusts the charging current to match your on-site solar generation and household use.

In ECO+ mode, every bit of charge comes from surplus solar that would otherwise be exported. It ships with a clip-on grid sensor, works alongside home battery storage, and ties into the wider myenergi ecosystem. Available 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase, tethered or socketed, in black or white — backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.

Will it suit your car and home?

The quick answer on cars, solar and batteries, and the power supply the Zappi V2.1 needs.

Your car

  • Every new EV sold in Australia uses a Type 2 plug, so this charger suits Tesla, BYD, MG, Kia, Hyundai, Polestar, Volvo, BMW and the rest.
  • Untethered (socket) version available for older Type 1 cars, or if you want your own cable.
  • Your car sets the speed. Many EVs accept 7 kW or 11 kW on AC, and only some take the full 22 kW.

Solar and batteries

  • Built for solar. ECO and ECO+ modes adjust the charge to match your spare solar. ECO+ uses only surplus.
  • It reads your grid export through the clamp that comes in the box, so it doesn’t need to talk to your inverter.
  • Works alongside home battery storage and other myenergi gear.

Your power supply

  • 7 kW model for single-phase homes, 22 kW model for three-phase homes.
  • A grid limit can be set at install using the supplied clamp, so charging backs off before your supply is overloaded.
  • Needs its own circuit at the switchboard, plus the clamp near your meter. We check both on site.

*Range per hour is the maker’s own figure. Your car sets the real speed: many EVs accept 7 kW or 11 kW on AC, so a 22 kW charger only charges at 22 kW if your car can take it.

How we install it

Fitted properly, tested, and signed off

Whatever charger you choose, the install standard is the same. Here’s what’s included as standard:

  • Dedicated circuit with its own 32 A Type A RCBO and isolator in the switchboard
  • Wired on its own dedicated 6 mm² circuit (minimum), sized to suit your charger
  • Tested with a calibrated EV simulator, never plugged into your car
  • CCEW lodged through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal, board and isolator labelled, full AS/NZS 3000 testing
  • Fixed price on the signed quote, no callout fee, backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee

Before we lock in your quote we check your home Wi-Fi reaches the charger. If it doesn’t, we sort out the options with you and quote them before booking, never on install day.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Will it work with my solar inverter?

The Zappi reads how much power you’re sending to the grid using the clamp that comes in the box. That means it doesn’t need to talk to your inverter to charge from spare solar.

What do FAST, ECO and ECO+ mean?

FAST charges at full speed like a normal charger. ECO follows your spare solar and tops up from the grid when needed. ECO+ only uses spare solar, and waits when there isn’t enough.

Does it work with a home battery?

Yes. It works alongside home battery storage, and with other myenergi products.

Will it overload my home’s supply?

A grid limit can be set at install using the supplied clamp, so the Zappi backs off before your supply is overloaded.

Will my car charge at 22 kW?

Only if the car can take it. The car’s onboard charger sets the limit, and many EVs accept 7 kW or 11 kW on AC. The charger delivers whatever your car can accept, so tell us your car and we’ll say what speed to expect.

Tethered or untethered?

Tethered has a 6.5 m cable fixed on. Untethered has a locking socket, so you can use your own cable, including a Type 1 cable for older imports.

How do you test the charger?

With a calibrated EV simulator. It loads the charger under real charging and fault conditions. We never plug into your car to test. We also do full AS/NZS 3000 testing and lodge the CCEW through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal.

What warranty do I get?

myenergi covers the charger with a 3-year warranty for home installs. On top of that, our workmanship is guaranteed for life.

How much does the Zappi cost to install?

Every home is different: the distance from your switchboard, the wall, and whether the board needs work all change the job. We give you a free, fixed price on a written quote, with no callout fee. What’s on the quote is what you pay.
