Features

What makes it good

Always connected

Wi-Fi keeps you in control from the Evnex app, and lets Evnex provide remote support if it’s ever needed.

Works with your solar

Charge from solar only, or trigger a one-time fast charge and top up from the grid. Your call, any time.

Home overload protection

Automatically slows or pauses charging if your home’s incoming supply is at risk of overloading.

In the app

Control it from your phone

Every Evnex charger comes with the Evnex app. Set a schedule so the car fills up on the cheapest power overnight, follow a live charge from your phone, and see exactly what each session cost and where the power came from. If it ever needs a hand, Evnex can support the charger remotely.

Will it suit your car and home?

The quick answer on cars, solar and batteries, and the power supply the E2 Core needs.

Your car

  • Every new EV sold in Australia uses a Type 2 plug, so this charger suits Tesla, BYD, MG, Kia, Hyundai, Polestar, Volvo, BMW and the rest.
  • Tethered cable, so it’s plug in and go. For a Type 1 import, ask us about the X22 socket version.

Solar and batteries

  • Solar charging built in from day one. Charge from solar only, or top up from the grid when you need it.
  • Evnex says it works with all solar setups, whatever your panels and inverter.
  • Works with home batteries. You can charge the battery from solar in the day and the car from the battery at night, or only use spare solar.

Your power supply

  • Made for single-phase homes. Not sure what you have? We can tell you.
  • Needs its own circuit and a 32 A Type A RCBO at the switchboard. We check your board has room before we quote.
  • Home overload protection slows or pauses charging if the house is drawing too much.

*Range per hour is the maker’s own figure. Your car sets the real speed: many EVs accept 7 kW or 11 kW on AC, so a 22 kW charger only charges at 22 kW if your car can take it.

How we install it

Fitted properly, tested, and signed off

Whatever charger you choose, the install standard is the same. Here’s what’s included as standard:

Evnex Certified Installer

We're an Evnex Certified Installer. We fit the Evnex range every week and know it inside out — set up, tested and registered to the app properly, the first time.

  • Dedicated circuit with its own 32 A Type A RCBO and isolator in the switchboard
  • Wired on its own dedicated 6 mm² circuit (minimum), sized to suit your charger
  • Tested with a calibrated EV simulator, never plugged into your car
  • CCEW lodged through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal, board and isolator labelled, full AS/NZS 3000 testing
  • Fixed price on the signed quote, no callout fee, backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee

Before we lock in your quote we confirm your home Wi-Fi reaches the charger. If it doesn’t, we quote the 4G-capable model separately — decided upfront, never swapped on install day.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Will the E2 Core charge my car?

Almost certainly. Every new EV sold in Australia uses a Type 2 plug. If you drive an older Japanese import with a Type 1 plug, tell us the model and we’ll check which charger and cable you need.

Does it work with my solar?

Yes. Solar charging is built in. You can charge from solar only, or trigger a one-time fast charge and top up from the grid. Evnex says it works with all solar setups.

What if my Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the charger?

We check that before your quote is locked in. If the signal doesn’t reach, we quote the 4G-capable E2 Plus separately so you can decide upfront. We never swap models on install day.

Does it need the internet all the time?

No. It keeps charging if the internet drops out. Evnex recommends a steady connection for updates and support, and the charger needs to check in roughly once a month.

What’s the difference between the Flex, Core and Plus?

They share the same 7.4 kW hardware. The Flex charges from the grid and gets solar through a later software upgrade. The Core has solar from day one. The Plus adds 4G, an 8 m cable and Tesla integration.

Will I need a switchboard upgrade?

Not always. The charger needs its own circuit with a 32 A Type A RCBO. If your board is old, full or can’t safely take it, we’ll tell you before you book and put the work on your quote. No surprises on the day.

How do you test the charger?

With a calibrated EV simulator. It loads the charger under real charging and fault conditions. We never plug into your car to test. We also do full AS/NZS 3000 testing and lodge the CCEW through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal.

What warranty do I get?

Evnex covers the charger with a 4-year warranty for home installs. On top of that, our workmanship is guaranteed for life.

How much does the E2 Core cost to install?

Every home is different: the distance from your switchboard, the wall, and whether the board needs work all change the job. We give you a free, fixed price on a written quote, with no callout fee. What’s on the quote is what you pay.
